Website Management

Website management services for businesses that want one reliable, US-based expert managing their entire website: development, design, hosting, security, analytics and updates, without agency overhead.

I'm Kevin Leary, and managing WordPress websites for businesses is most of what I do. Organizations hire me to take full ownership of their site: I handle the code, the hosting, the security, the analytics and the roadmap, and they get one senior person who answers directly instead of an account manager relaying to a team they've never met.

Most of my clients came to me from an agency arrangement that stopped making sense: too expensive for what it delivered, too slow to turn things around, or too junior once the sales team handed the work off. I'm the person they replaced it with, and most have stayed for years.

What Managing Your Website Includes

A flat monthly retainer scoped to your stack. You get a senior developer, designer and analytics engineer in one person, managing everything your website needs to run well.

  • Proactive Maintenance Monthly plugin, theme, core and PHP update cycles tested from local to staging to production, with a written report of everything that changed.

  • Development & Fixes Ongoing custom development, bug fixes and improvements handled by the same senior developer every time, no ticket queue.

  • Design & Brand Management Landing pages, campaign pages and design refinements that stay on brand without a separate design vendor.

  • Hosting & Infrastructure Kinsta, WP Engine, Cloudflare and DNS managed for you, with zero-downtime deploys and staging environments.

  • Security & Monitoring Daily vulnerability scanning, login hardening, bot mitigation, and uptime monitoring with real triage, not automated noise.

  • Performance Core Web Vitals kept healthy release after release: caching layers, image delivery, query cleanup and speed budgets.

  • Analytics & Reporting GA4, GTM and consent-compliant tracking maintained and reported, so the numbers leadership sees stay trustworthy.

  • Advertising & Marketing Support Ad platform tags, conversion tracking, SEO/AEO upkeep and campaign landing pages, coordinated with your marketing calendar.

  • eCommerce Operations WooCommerce and Stripe subscription platforms kept billing, converting and reconciling without babysitting.

  • A Real Roadmap Quarterly priorities and honest recommendations from someone invested in the site long-term, not in selling the next project.

Websites I Manage & Support

Businesses that hired someone to manage their website and kept them: subscription publishers, insurers, health networks, SaaS companies and eCommerce brands running on a monthly retainer.

Website Management FAQs

Common questions from businesses looking to hire someone to manage their website.

What does website management cost?

It depends on what your website needs to do. Maintenance-focused care plans sit at the lower end; full management of a revenue-critical site, covering development, design, hosting, security, analytics and marketing support, runs as a flat monthly retainer scoped to your stack. Either way you'll know the exact number before we start, and it will be less than the agency retainer it typically replaces.

How is this different from hiring a digital agency?

You work directly with the senior person doing the work. No account managers, no handoffs to junior developers after the sale, no offshore subcontracting, and no agency margin built into every hour. Agencies hire me themselves when they need senior WordPress engineering; working with me directly removes that layer.

Can you really manage everything: development, design, hosting, analytics and marketing?

Yes, that's the point of the retainer. I'm a programmer, data engineer and designer, so updates, custom development, landing pages, infrastructure, tracking and reporting all come from one person who knows your whole stack. The portfolio below is made up of businesses that run exactly this way.

Are you US-based?

Yes. I'm a US-based independent consultant in the Boston area, working US business hours. Nothing is subcontracted or sent offshore; the person you hire is the person doing the work.

Can you take over a website someone else built?

Yes, and most engagements start exactly this way. I audit what exists, stabilize anything fragile, set up proper environments and deploys, and then manage the site forward, improving it incrementally instead of pushing a rebuild you may not need.
